Fate Trigger unveils new closed beta details and latest official trailer
  • Fate Trigger is set to host a brand-new closed beta, unfortunately, PC-only
  • But a brand-new trailer offers us a glimpse at additional content
  • We'll also be seeing new reporting from the beta on additional content made available

Those of you who are frequent readers may remember us covering the upcoming anime-style battle royale Fate Trigger last year. And if you've been hankering to give it a go, then you're in luck, because not only is a new PC CBT test in the works, but there's also a brand-new trailer on the go!

Fate Trigger bills itself as a fast-paced, anime-style battle royale, with a focus on relatively short matches and a low barrier for entry, meaning that they're pursuing that ever-elusive 'beginner-friendly but hard to master' format. But with flying cars and mid-air combat, it's certainly not low on ideas.

Unfortunately, the CBT is available via Steam, so mobile players will have to wait a while longer to get their hands on it. But what it will offer is a chance to see other players taking on a swathe of new content.

Indeed, when we see the first clips of content coming out of the upcoming CBT on July 24th, I think that it will offer plenty of excitement seeing new characters in action, larger and more action-packed maps, as well as new modes including ranked matches, quick trials and 8v8 team deathmatch.

What Fate Trigger is selling itself on is undoubtedly the mixture of classic anime-style action with the modern convenience and portability of the fast-paced mobile battle royale. I reckon there's a niche here for an original property, so hopefully we'll be able to experience more of it on mobile soon and crucially, how it'll play with touchscreen controls.

But in the meantime, if you need something to help tide you over before the release of this upcoming battle royale, why not check out what's already available? Our list of the top battle royales for Android and iOS is constantly updated with all the latest releases!
