Figment 2: Creed Valley is the Epic Games Store's free-to-keep of the week

Not a figment of your imagination

Figment 2: Creed Valley is the Epic Games Store's free-to-keep of the week
  • Figment 2: Creed Valley is now available via the Epic Games Store
  • This isometric journey into the human mind is free to play and keep
  • Take on rhythmic bosses with frantic energy as you face all manner of challenges

The Epic Games Store's free game of the week programme is continuing at pace. Now, the latest release to get a free-to-play and keep launch is that of Figment 2: Creed Valley. Fans who want to jump in and give it a go can download Figment 2 and keep it on their Epic Games account entirely free.

Figment 2: Creed Valley is a journey into the human mind. And if you were expecting something dour and brooding, or sad and bleak, then you're mistaken. Because the isometric Figment 2 is all about manic action and neurotic, angsty characters to encounter.

Be it fear, anxiety or doubt, each of these figments of imagination offers a reflection of the inner turmoil of the mind you find yourself in. But they also offer fast-paced boss battles and rhythmic fights that take advantage of a frantic soundtrack to add even more pace to the action.

Journey into the mind

The concept of a journey into the mind has become somewhat passe recently, especially where indie is concerned. But Figment mixes it up with the introduction of a far more frenetic tone and pace that I think many people can identify with.

Certainly, it's yet another example of the surprising appeal of the Epic Games Store for mobile. Whereas on PC it faced the difficulty of swaying players from an existing storefront, now on mobile it has the benefit of an audience who are always looking for a good deal. And what deal is better than having something free to claim and keep?

Speaking of which, if you blaze through Figment 2 and find yourself craving more new releases to play, why not take on some of the latest hit picks that we've made in our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week
