Sky: Children of the Light, thatgamecompany's hit all-ages MMO, has proven to be quite experimental when it comes to integrating other media. Whether that be the live concerts taking place in-game or the inclusion of famous fairy tales. Now, the newest event is coming on July 21st with the release of Season of the Two Embers.
Described as an integration of an animated film into the world of Sky: Children of the Light, it follows a young orphan trying to find hope in a world slowly succumbing to darkness. Told entirely without dialogue, you will watch the story unfold through a series of animated chapters, each accompanied by playable Seasonal Quests.
And if you're worried this might be a bit heavy for younger players, don't be concerned, because all throughout the experience, you are accompanied by a gentle but expressive manatee. It will react to events as they unfold, while your bond with the manatee grows over time.
Light up the night
Each chapter will air over the coming weeks, with chapter one on July 21st, chapter two on July 28th, chapter three on August 4th and chapter four on August 11th. And if you miss the first airing, don't fret, because they'll be repeated every two hours in the in-game cinema.Fans who aren't checking in regularly at the cinema can also take a gander at another new addition, with the arrival of a bustling market village environment. There are spirits, different activities and secrets to uncover, as well as several new cosmetics being made available based on the setting.
