Silver and Blood guide - Invoke the vampiric nature

With its slightly darker aesthetics and incredibly charming characters, I'm about to dive into a Silver and Blood guide, from which you will learn all the most important tips and tricks you should practice while playing.
I've had the pleasure of trying out SAB since its release, and never got too lucky with the gacha, I decided to share some tips, which have helped me clear out a lot of the stages relatively quickly, and without spending a dime. If that's something that sounds good to you, then you'll probably enjoy what I have to share on the following pages.
F2P-friendly and insane gacha rates!
Before we actually dive into the guide, I have to touch on a couple of features that make Silver and Blood stand out among its peers. One of which is the incredibly high gacha rates.Since there's a good system in place that gives you a few SSRs along the way, be it from the pity or the Perfect Shards, you can always get your hands on new characters, regardless of how lucky you are with your summons.

Moreover, as a F2P player, you also get quite a lot of free summons from the moment you set foot into the game. Add that to the sheer number of Moon Tears you get for simply playing, and you don't have to worry about spending your hard-earned cash if you don't want to.
So, why this guide? That's simple! You need to learn how to manage all of your resources and time, so you can get the most out of everything, and even become one of the top players without having to spend any money (or at least, a lot of money) on various packs and perks.
Before we get into the guide, make sure you are up-to-speed on the latest SAB codes, and also take a look at our Silver and Blood tier list, where we ranked all the current characters!

Tip #1 - Challenge Story Mode as often as you can

This first tip is also one of the most important. The main reason you NEED to focus on Story Mode is because of a couple of features that will benefit you in the long term:
- Leveling up Moonlight Faith (passive rewards)
- Claiming the chapter's clear rewards, consisting of summoning tickets
Once you start playing in the Story Mode on Normal, you'll have to beat stages that get increasingly more difficult - some of them will require you to kill enemies, while others will need you to survive for a period of time. I recommend you complete as many of them as possible, all while consistently upgrading your Vassals.
By challenging Story Mode, you will also get a point towards upgrading your Moonlight Faith, which upgrades by one level each five stages cleared. The easiest stages to clear are the Normal ones, with their Hard variants unlocking after a while.
About Moonlight Faith rewards
Moonlight Faith will give you all the resources necessary to upgrade your characters, but also EXP to level up your account. You want this to be upgraded as much as possible every day so that when you go offline, you'll gather more resources.

Tip #2 - Don't sleep on the Transfusion feature

Transfusion unlocks after passing Stages 4-5, and is a feature that allows you to place various characters at level one in the empty slots. Characters placed in the empty slots will automatically level up to a level equal to that of your lowest-level Vassal placed at the top.
I strongly recommend you place all of your SSRs and some powerful SRs in the Transfusion slots, so you can have them upgraded in case you need to swap out some of the characters during the story. While some events will automatically make all of your characters a specific level (or max level), you should still have them upgraded.
How to unlock more Transfusion slots?
New Transfusion slots will unlock the more new characters you acquire. You can also unlock more by spending Moon Tears, but at the beginning, I recommend you just wait until you unlock all the characters, then start spending Moon Tears on unlocking additional slots.

Tip #3 - Keep your Moon Tears for exclusive/rate-up summons

Moon Tears are the premium currency, and they are pretty hard to come by later on. You will get quite a lot at the start, but you shouldn't waste them on the normal gacha. Instead, you should keep them only for the exclusive gacha.
In the exclusive/rate-up gacha, you will have to spend 3000 Moon Tears for 10 pulls, but if you want to get your hands on a character that is otherwise hard to come by, this is the best way to spend them.
What else should you spend your Moon Tears on?
There are a few more things you could spend some of your Moon Tears on, but don't go crazy. It's best to save them if you don't want the character in the rate-up gacha. Here are a few other things that could be worth your Moon Tears:
- Resetting a character's level (10 Moon Tears)
- 1 Extra Sermon (first Extra Sermon per day costs 50 Moon Tears, then 70, and so on)
- Buying event-related currency
Aside from these, it's best you keep all of your Moon Tears because at some point there will be a character you will want - even if it's not the one that is in the current gacha.

Tip #4 - Participate in exclusive events

Unlike in many other RPGs, the time-limited events in Silver and Blood are not too hard to complete. They usually become available 2-3 times a month, sometimes even more often (depending on the complexity of the event), and if you want to get your hands on exclusive summoning items (like Vestige of Love or Soothing Embrace), you should try to complete these events as often as possible.
There will be a lot of rewards to claim, on top of the summoning tickets, including Pure Blood Essence, and various Fragments (to level up your equipment level or character type power), so I strongly recommend you claim those as soon as you obtain all the summoning tickets.
All in all, you will get free participation tries every day for the events, so even if you can't clear everything straight up, you can still clear a few stages and farm those! Make sure you do that every single day.

Tip #5 - Focus on upgrading 5 SSR characters

This might sound a little bit counterintuitive, but the thing you want to do is focus on upgrading five of the SSR characters you have the most copies of. With the Transfusion feature, you can automatically level up any character you have to the level of your lowest-level Vassal, but this level relies on your top five characters.
Basically, the thing you need to do is level up five characters you have the most copies of. The level of a character depends on its Spirit Siphon level (0 stars = max level 80, 1 star = max level 120, 2 stars = max level 160, 3 stars+ = max level 200), and this can be bypassed by using Transfusion.
Gear up more than just the characters on your main team
Since you can level up a lot of the characters, my suggestion would be to gear up all the SSRs. Since you can swap them out to pass a specific stage, if they also have gear, they will be a lot stronger. You don't necessarily have to level up the gear, just make sure you equip it. Those additional stats, once you have upgraded the Awakening Ritual and Light/Medium/Heavy Equipment, the upgrade bonus will grant all your gear much better stats.

Tip #6 - Don't rely on auto-play for everything

Since Silver and Blood is a strategy RPG, you won't always get away with just blindly pressing play and going to the next stage time and time again. Some levels, especially the EX and boss stages, will be a lot easier if you play them manually.
The auto-battle option is good, but it doesn't always make the best decisions. I strongly recommend you learn your team's strengths and when to use their skills. This will not only save you a lot of time (since the auto option doesn't always think of who is the best to cast their skill first, then second, and so on), but for instance, if you use a buff first, then do your main attack, you might even be able to one-shot the enemies in a stage.
During boss stages, it's especially good to go for manual battle, because you can decide exactly who you want your team to attack. Sometimes the auto doesn't even target enemies properly (like the arms of the Rat King), which can be fatal at the start.

Tip #7 - Make your own dream team!

The best part about Silver and Blood is that there is no one-size-fits-all type of content. Everybody can create their team however they like, and it can still be viable. If you want to have a summoner team, you can go for it! Do you want to try out assassins and mages? Why not!
There are endless ways to enjoy the game, and you don't have to rely on someone specific. You can use any character you have, and even replace it with an SR for a while, and you can still probably pass one of the mid-to-end-game stages. Of course, as long as that character has their gear upgraded.
